Neural processing unit: a block on a chip built to run trained AI models efficiently, usually a grid of multiply-and-add units with its own local memory.
Expert
Sized for performance per watt within a tight area budget. It usually has its own power domain and DVFS, and its SRAM is a major leakage contributor.
