DRC hotspot
Beginner
A small area of a chip where the wires are likely to break the factory’s drawing rules.
Novice
A small region of the layout, usually one routing tile, where detailed routing ends with design-rule violations: wires too close, too narrow, or unable to reach a pin.
Expert
Predicted per GCell or window as a classification problem. Hotspots are rare, so report true- and false-positive rates (or precision and recall), not accuracy. Global-route congestion alone predicts them poorly at advanced nodes because pin access and multiple patterning rules dominate.
