Doomed run

Beginner

A run of the design tools that will fail at the end. Spotting it early saves hours.

Novice

A run of the place-and-route flow that will end with a result the team can’t use, such as too many wiring errors or badly missed timing. Predicting it early lets the team stop it and try other settings.

Expert

Framed as early stopping: predict the final outcome from intermediate stages (placement, CTS, router logs) and terminate unpromising runs. False negatives waste a run; false positives kill a run that would have closed.
